Make a Difference Today
Can you make a difference in the lives of youth? Absolutely! Partner with 4-H Camp Ohio and you will significantly impact today’s youth as they become tomorrow’s leaders. Help lead the way with your participation.
What does it take to make a difference? It takes an investment of your valuable resources. This does not mean that you need to take funds out of your pocket right this minute. Rather that you consider including 4-H Camp Ohio in your financial planning by naming the camp in your estate plan, as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy, pledging a gift over the course of a few years, etc.
4-H Camp Ohio is a great place for youth to learn skills that will last a lifetime. The unique setting at Camp Ohio helps youth develop; self confidence, leadership skills, citizenship, decision making, communication, community living skills, cooperation, respect for others, etc. These quality life skills are taught while participating in line dancing class, navigating a canoe with a new friend, concentrating on a team building challenge, bunking in a cabin, participation in outdoor education programs, etc. Over 8,000 youth grow from these experiences each year.
4-H Camp Ohio is asking you to seize the opportunity to become a partner in the valuable work of developing future leaders. Together we can ensure the future of 4-H Camp Ohio and enable this facility to reach more youth with values and skills that make a difference for a lifetime. Gifts may be made in several ways:
CASH- An outright gift of cash will provide you with a charitable income tax deduction and help camp to meet current needs. A major benefit of giving a cash donation is that it enables you to immediately support priority projects such as: replacement of the swimming pool, renovation of the final cabin, construction of the new Environmental Education Center and the new Welcome Center. Cash gifts can also be directed towards our 4-H Camp Ohio Endowment Fund. Interest monies generated from these gifts are used annually for current project needs while the original gift remains untouched forever.
PLEDGES- Pledges to 4-H Camp Ohio over a three-to five year period allow you to consider a much larger investment than may have ordinarily been possible. Pledges are made using the detachable portion of this brochure or a letter of intent, and your first payment may or may not be included. It is important to notify the Camp Ohio office of your pledge and its amount so that accurate information can be maintained on all pledges.
GIFTS OF SECURITIES- Many donors choose to give appreciated stocks or bonds to 4-H Camp Ohio. You can usually avoid the capital gains tax on appreciated securities while receiving a charitable income tax deduction for the full fair market value as of the date of the gift.
LIFETIME INCOME GIFTS- There are several types of life income gifts, all of which provide a charitable income tax deduction. Life income gifts provide income for you and/or other beneficiaries during their lifetimes. Upon the benefactor’s death, the principal passes to 4-H Camp Ohio.
BEQUESTS- One of the most common ways for you to make a gift to 4-H Camp Ohio is through a bequest in your Will. When you make a bequest to camp, your estate receives a charitable estate tax deduction for 100% of the amount of a cash bequest or the fair market value of property.
DEFERRED OR PLANNED GIVING- A planned gift to 4-H Camp Ohio can help you secure long-range tax and financial benefits. With careful gift planning, you can enjoy the benefits of charitable income tax deductions, reduction or elimination of capital gains tax, avoidance of estate taxes and the ability to receive lifetime income.
